I was born in Williamsburg Brooklyn. At nine, I began creating art work and won a few art contest.  At eleven one of my teachers recognized my artistic abilities, and suggested I go for art lessons at the Brooklyn Museum. I advanced into oils and was encouraged by my family.

During my high school years, I applied and was accepted to the High School of Art and design. At this time I was inspired by the artistic ambiance of Manhattan. I then attended the State University at Farmingdale, majoring in Advertising Art and Design. Upon Graduation I was employed as a graphic/ advertising artist. I then attended the City University at Queens College majoring in Fine Art. I studied with Robert Birmelin, Harold Bruda, Herb Aach, and Gabriel Laderman. I continued to paint in oils and became interested in the early Impressionist movement. I then continued my Education and received my Masters from the City University at Queens College.

I began teaching Art for the Board of Cooperative Educational Services. During that time I did very little painting. My concentration was on my children and on teaching. The only work I did were a few pastels and oils. It was not until 2000 when I began to get back into my art production, I then produced a series of pastels.

In 2008 I again began to paint seriously. In 2010, I began showing my art in various shows in New York  and South Florida. In 2012, I received a merit award for a piece showing in the Rossetti Fine Art gallery. Since then I have received recognition and awards from numerous Galleries and groups . To see check Resume. I am a member of the Patchogue Arts Council,  Gallery North and The Long Island Museum.

In painting one must have the spirit or feeling for the subject, creativity happens at different times as it comes from the soul. Looking at nature, inspires my spirit towards creativity. Lately color, movement, action, texture and composition are relevant in the way I am creating my recent work.

.

I in my earlier works would consider myself as a Plein Air painter painting outdoors in nature. However I have been working from photos that I have taken when I cannot work outdoors, and have been working in studio. I completed a series called flowers with the addition of trees.

in my later Plein-Air pieces I have been using color with stronger more intense hues, rather than tediously trying to capture surface tones. I work with color, movement, action, spacial relationships and depth.  I am becoming more fluid and expressive with my brush work. I am concerned with composition/ design, trying to impact a directness and immediacy of expression.

I am  in my flower series  capturing surface tones and values. I am doing this for the purpose of achieving debt and dimension.

I would consider myself as a purest, one who tries to capture the beauty of a subject. However I will intrepret it as I see it. using my artistic background to depict it in the pure sense..  My recent work deals with Color, Movement, Texture and Composition with no representational subject.
